Webkinz Gameplay Guide

With over two dozen games in the Arcade, learning Webkinz Gameplay might seem a daunting task. But it won’t take you long to learn once you know the categories games fall into and the classic and popular games that inspired them.

Something for Everyone
There are so many different games in the Arcade, you’re sure to find a favorite. There are games of speed and coordination like Polar Plunge, where you help the polar bear slide across the finish line. One of the color matching strategy games plays like Super Collapse, only you’re clearing multi-colored bottle caps in Cash Cow. There are several games where you have to point and click to clear items or protect your home or possessions. It takes practice to judge where to aim to hit a target that’s moving, or how much power to put behind a jump to keep a frog out of the water in Lily Padz, or help a monkey leap to different platforms in Bananaza.

Numbers and Letters
In Booger Gets an A, Booger thinks of a number. You click on blocks with numbers on them to add up to the number he picked. This game is good for small children just learning to add. In Lunch Letters you get typing practice as you type falling words and letters as fast you can to keep them from hitting the floor. Quizzy’s Word Game is similar to Boggle where you make words from a jumble of letters.

Classic Games, New Approach
Tile Towers is based on the popular game Mahjongg. Skunk Sweeper is mine sweeper with a smelly twist. Ant Mania is based on the game of Snake where you lead a lengthening line of ants around a picnic blanket without letting them touch, and Zacky’s Quest is similar to Frogger.

Dex Dangerous and the Lunar Lugbotz plays much like the classic video game Asteroids. Hungry Hog is based on Pac Man. Goober’s Lab plays like Bejeweled where you switch colored gems to make three in a row, and Gumball Mania is a sweeter, more colorful kid-friendly version of Mastermind.

It’s easy to learn the different games in the Arcade. And if you’re familiar with any of the classic games they’re based on, you’ll get the hang of them even more quickly.

Curio Shop Levels
Arte in the Curio Shop’s a gruff sort of fella. It’s a kind of a game getting him to like you! Here’s a helpful tip: If you go in every day, buy things and tip him every time, he eventually moves you up a level and gets friendlier. You can tell which level you’re on by how he greets you! Here are the levels and the things Arte says:
  1. He’ll give you a ‘first time shopper’ message with an introduction
  2. Welcome to the Curio Shop, hope you find what you’re looking for.
  3. Welcome back. See if you can find a bargain today.
  4. Hey, welcome back, if you see something you like, let me know.
  5. Good to see you again. Have fun shopping!
  6. Ahh, one of my favorite customers. Let’s see what I can do for you.
  7. There you are! Always great to see you, my shop is your shop.
And when you reach level 7, Arte will hold up a sign that tells you what time of day the rare item will be available!

With easy to understand rules and goals, most of the games in the Arcade and throughout Webkinz World are based on games you’re probably familiar with. That makes it easy to learn how all the games work, which makes Webkinz gameplay more fun for you.
