The Clubhouse is home to a very special part of
Webkinz World—KinzChat and
KinzChat Plus. Both versions of KinzChat let you talk with your friends, have fun and enjoy a very interactive part of the Webkinz experience. KinzChat is better suited for younger children, or children who haven’t been given access to KinzChat Plus. But both are fun and safe ways for you to chat at Webkinz World.
KinzChat is Easy
To join KinzChat, simply go to the Clubhouse at Webkinz World. Click on the treehouse door, and you’ll be shown several rooms you can choose from, like The Party Room, The Exercise Room, The Reading Room, The Girls Rule Room, and several more. Click on one and you’ll see how many rooms there are (usually each type of room has several open that look alike), how many kids are chatting in each room, and you’ll even see a little preview picture and a description. Just pick one, and go!
You’ll be able to see everyone in the room, and talk to them! Because KinzChat uses a series of pre-written words and phrases, you get to pick what to say from a list. The main list shows the types of things you can talk or ask other users about. The categories are:
- About the Room
- About You
- About Webkinz World
- About Stuff to Do
- About Favorites
- About Games
- About Tips
Each category contains different statements and questions. If you choose “About You,” a few of the choices are:
- How was your day?
- How was school today?
- How many Webkinz Pets do you have?
- Are you having fun?
KinzChat is the perfect first chat room for smaller children, because they don’t have to be able to spell many words or even type words at all. And picking words and phrases from a set of approved words makes it safe, and guarantees that it’ll be a wholesome environment fit for kids.
It’s is a great place for chatters to have real conversations by choosing questions and answers, with no chance of anyone ruining the fun by being mean or saying bad things.
Say Even More in KinzChat Plus
KinzChat Plus allows you to create your own messages instead of picking sentences from a list. If you’d like to talk in KinzChat Plus, an email will be sent to your parent or guardian asking for permission.
While you can type your own messages, the words must be found in the KinzChat Plus dictionary. All numbers, number names, and most common and place names have been erased from that dictionary to keep kids from giving out or asking for personal information. While it’s not impossible for this to happen, Webkinz World has taken every precaution against it.
Each room in KinzChat Plus has a Reporting Button shaped like a shield that you or a parent can press to alert the chat monitors that someone is being abusive, acting in an inappropriate manner, using bad language, or trying to reveal or ask for personal information. Webkinz World takes these matters very seriously—they want the chat to be a blast for you, but safe, too—and will carefully investigate each report. If a member is found to have acted inappropriately, he or she will no longer have access to the chat room, so they can keep Webkinz KinzChat a friendly, welcoming place to play!
